Off to a Good Start

First off, let me say that I had a great first meeting at the SLMQG last week.  The ladies were very sweet and they seem like a cool bunch of women.  I'm still staying with my local quilt club ladies, too, but feel there is enough room in my life for both types of experiences.  My goal is to learn and grow my craft, which I feel I can do with both groups ~ in different ways.

Here are the blocks I received last month as part of the Sew Pieceful Swap Group.

One of the things I am loving about this group is the super fast turn around time.  The swap works much the same way as the ever popular 3x6 and 4x5 bees but with a monthly deadline rather than quarterly or semi-annual.  I guess I'm enjoying the challenge of the speed.  Nothing like a looming deadline to light a fire under your seat, huh?

As you can see I've received some beauties.  The blocks for June have started rolling in and they are equally as pretty!  I don't know if I've said before but I'm planning on using this quilt/these colors as a jumping off point for my family room.  I'm kind of excited to see where it ends up.

**If you are interested in joining this swap go to the flickr page and sign up.  Since this is a monthly swap you can jump and out as need arises.  Sign ups start somewhere around the 20th of each month.

those are some really cool blocks! I love the variation. It's so neat how people think differently and that really comes through in each block. It is going to be a fantastic quilt when finished.

I'm with you- I work better under a deadline too!
